CCIE Security Exam Report | A Journey of Persistence and Transformation, Winning at WOLF-LAB PASS!
I have always wanted to write a serious summary after passing the exam.
On one hand, it is to express gratitude and give an account to WOLF-LAB, and on the other hand, it is to record this period of effort for myself.
I. From Corporate Engineer to Dreaming Again
I am currently engaged in network-related work in a company, responsible for daily operations and architecture in the network and security directions. I have already passed the HCIE in the routing and switching direction, but there has always been a dream in my heart—to obtain the Cisco CCIE certification.
To me, CCIE is not just a certificate, but also a symbol of ability. It is widely recognized internationally and is a recognition of technical depth and system thinking ability.
So I enrolled in an institution to prepare. But the first exam failed for various reasons. During that time, my feelings were actually quite complex—discontent, disappointment, and also doubts about my own abilities.
But I did not give up.
Later, due to some opportunities, I transferred to the WOLF-LAB institution.
II. Entering WOLF-LAB: A Real Technical Atmosphere
On the first day I was added to the group, I felt the difference in the atmosphere.
The group was very active, and the teachers answered questions in a timely manner. Whether it was knowledge points, experimental problems, or exam strategies, feedback could be obtained within the first time.
Although I was a transferred student, I was not treated differently. Any problem could be handled in a timely manner, including machine time arrangements, analysis of difficult problems, etc.
III. Rack System and Preparation Support
What impressed me very deeply was the machine time system.
The rack system of WOLF-LAB is an automated system:
• Automatically grant permissions based on reservation time
• Automatically terminate login at the scheduled time
• Fair and transparent
• There will be no situation where students compete for machine racks or argue
Compared to the previous institution, the rack problem was not resolved for a long time, and even in the days before the exam, it was not possible to arrange machine time according to the plan, and could only be allocated to the early morning time slot—this experience was really different.
At WOLF-LAB:
• If there is not enough machine time, teachers will actively coordinate to make up for it
• The experimental environment is stable
• Problems can be quickly repaired
IV. Design and DOO Sections
The most obvious change in this exam was the preparation method for Design.
The institution would update the content in a timely manner based on the latest battle reports. More importantly, there is a Design simulation exam system.
On the day before the exam, I completed a full set of simulation. This was of great help to me.
Because simply memorizing questions often gives the illusion that "I know all of them."
But when actually doing the questions, blind spots will be exposed. Through the simulation, I found several areas where my understanding was not solid enough, and I immediately supplemented them that night. The next day, the Design section of the exam still had 2 questions that were not very certain, but they would not affect the overall situation.
For the DOO section, it also felt much faster than the rack in the first attempt. The last dns problem appeared repeatedly, but it was eventually successfully resolved.
In the end, I finished the exam more than an hour early, went back and checked for half an hour, confirmed it, and then asked the teacher at the exam venue to help confirm the submit button to end the exam, and finished the exam early.
Since it was a Friday exam, I thought the results would come out on Monday, but at noon on Sunday, I opened my email and found that I had received a Cisco email, logged into the exam system to confirm, and it turned out that I had already passed! I was very happy, and my family was also very happy!
V. In Conclusion
I would like to express my gratitude to all the teachers at WOLF-LAB who helped me, thank my fellow students who exchanged and shared solutions to prepare for the exam, and wish WOLF-LAB to get better and better, and that both students and those who work hard will have their rewards.
Above, a network engineer still on the road.
